Dura Vermeer and Sloot Tankbouw have jointly established a new specialist jacking company: D&S Jacking. D&S Jacking combines the extensive experience of Sloot Tankbouw in the construction, maintenance, and repair of storage tanks, and the civil engineering knowledge of Dura Vermeer. In this way, D&S Jacking offers a total solution for tank storage companies.
D&S Jacking is located in Vlaardingen, near the European epicentre of tank storage, which boasts a total capacity of nearly 30 million m³ divided over more than 2,100 tanks. The vision behind D&S Jacking is to help significantly extend the service life of a tank through proper and timely maintenance. Jacking a tank can play a part in this process, which occurs when the bottom of a tank needs replacing or repairing, or if a tank base needs to be elevated or renovated. Depending on the situation, D&S Jacking takes care of the tank construction or civil engineering works: from sand replenishment, laying a crushed stone ring, applying HDPE film, leak detection to mechanical work on the tank.
By combining the specialties of both companies, D&S Jacking is able to offer a variety of services in addition to jacking operations. These include soil remediation, raising tank dikes, repairing or installing concrete foundations, installing underground pipelines (such as drains or fire mains) and roads. Customers, such as terminal owners, and contractors, can therefore rely on D&S Jacking for all their tank-related activities.
D&S Jacking is currently working on its first jacking assignment at Koole Terminals in Pernis – four tanks, 15 meters in diameter.
