1710m³ sludge tank
Rotterdam, 29 oktober 2019 –In early 2019, SJR was approached with the question whether we would have any room in our production hall at short notice for the construction of a new sludge tank. Due to extensive activity at the client’s locations, there was no more room on site to accommodate further projects. This meant the client wanted to order a tank that was built off-site and then supplied as a turn-key solution as soon as the old tank had been torn down.
In addition, the new tank would have to be ready for delivery before the end of the year, so that it could be taken into operation in mid-2020. The new slop tank, which has a diameter of 12.2 metres, a height of 14.6 metres and a capacity of 1,710 m³, was built in 11 weeks and fitted with a full-contact internal floating roof by CTS Netherlands, a foam and cooling water conduit system by Assenberg, and an internal and external coating by Van der Ende Steel Protectors. On a cold but sunny day in late October 2019, Peinemann transported the slop tank from Heijplaat to the Botlek area. The tank will be taken into operation at the beginning of next month.
