An impressive view
Rotterdam, 24 July 2020 – An impressive picture; eight storage tanks on their way over water to their final destination. The tanks were transported from our production hall at the Heijplaat in Rotterdam after a manufacturing period of six months.
Over a year ago, we were awarded the contract for the fabrication of these eight tanks with a total storage capacity of 19,000 m³ in our production hall. Indoor fabrication offers an ideal environment for the highest possible quality, safety and the environment. By doing so we also spare our customer with minimal work on-site.
Moreover, the weather conditions, which are constantly changing in the Netherlands, have no influence on the planning, which benefits the total lead time of the construction process. After the engineering phase, we started with the construction of the first four tanks in January of this year.
In our production hall, with a diameter of 24 meters, a length of 60 meters and a height of 32 meters, we had the opportunity to build four tanks at a time. After the load-out of the first four tanks mid-April, we were able to start with the construction of the final four tanks.
On July 22, 2020 the eight tanks were ready for transport to our client. The final four tanks were driven out of our production hall by Mammoet and hoisted onto a pontoon by Hebo.
2 days of hard work by the men, and the tanks were ready for transport to their final destination.
