SJR Composites takes on its first order

Rotterdam – 20 October 2020, SJR Composites proudly announces its first commission, for a dozen composite storage tanks. And we’re pleased to say this order comes from one of our longest-standing clients: Koole.

Some time ago, Koole Tankstorage Minerals B.V. (KTM) asked us for a proposal regarding new storage tanks for the upgrade of their existing Tank Truck Loading Rack on Petroleumweg in Rotterdam. It didn’t take long before both we and the client asked ourselves whether these tanks couldn’t be constructed using composite: a wonderful innovation in the field of petrochemical storage tanks. After confirming that this was definitely an option, we embarked on the development of an effective composite design. This ultimately resulted in SJR Composites being awarded the contract for the project in late August.

The renewed Tank Truck Loading Rack (TTLR2) will offer room for 12 composite storage tanks with a capacity of 35.5 m³ for the storage of diesel additives.
The new tanks will have a diameter of 2,800 mm, will stand 7,300 mm tall and satisfy the relevant ‘Best Available Technologies’ (BBT)/correct codes.

With a production lead time of 4.5 months, we will be able to deliver all 12 tanks to the client for final acceptance in January 2021.

We look forward to an inspiring and innovative collaboration. And we wish to once again thank Koole for the trust they have placed in us!
